Customer Reviews

This kit does not work. The resin does not penetrate into cracks or nicks. The resin will come out of the sides and get all over the windshield. It seeps under the adhesive but doesn't go into the crack. There is insufficient resin- and it all winds up everywhere but inside of repair. I followed the instructions to the letter- this kit does not work. You can't get a seal over the repair with the tools provided and the resin does not penetrate into the damaged area, it all comes out the sides because there is no seal. In order for this to work, you would need to have a good seal over the ding or crack, and the materials in this kit do not provide that. You'd probably need to be able to open the crack as well- nothing in the kit allows you to do that. Don't buy this kit, I tried it twice, I followed the instructions, and have a pretty good understanding as to exactly why this product does not work.

I just used this product. A small rock hit my windshield, and created about an 1/8" hole/crack, and was very noticeable while driving, it was in the line of sight. The product actually worked pretty good, it is definitely made an improvement.
Pros:
--Made an improvement.
--After you are done, it looks good, and you are sort of happy if you had the patience to mess with this product and stuff.
--The product really does the work for you; all you do is leave the syringe there in the holder for about 45 minutes. I would say the major time using this product, goes w/ the cleanup (scraping the resin/glue off your windshield), and trying to fully understand the instructions.
Cons:
--Would not use this product in DIRECT SUNLIGHT, or you are asking for trouble, because everything will dry so fast, just wouldn't do it - use it on a HAZY DAY or in the SHADE ONLY.
--Make sure you have patience and a loooot of time.
--Took me a little over 2 hours to do, you need a lot of patience.
--The directions were a bit confusing, had to read them slowly and more than a couple of times.
--The resin ran all the way down the windshield, so after i was done, had to take a steak knife and sloooowly scrape off the windshield, that actually took most of the time, like 35-40 minutes so i wouldn't scratch the windshield.
--The 'sealer stuff' that seated the plunger/syringe, was pain to remove. it also left a bunch of glue/residue behind. I was sort of in a panic, but that was no problem, i got that off of my window w/ Fantastic cleaner and a sock, which was a pain, and took a lot of patience. It still was really messy though, cz you are kind of stuck, trying to scrape off the 'sealer stuff' from your windshield with whatever scraper thing you can find, but it does eventually all come off.
--It says to leave the syringe on your windshield for about 45 minutes; i would recommend continuously watching it so you can perhaps catch any resin that is leaking out, running down on your windshield. This will save you a LOOOOOOT of time at the end, so u won't have to scrape it off your windshield. If you do this, basically cuts down on a lot of time (no scraping at the end).
Overall, even though it's sort of a risk, I would recommend the product, BUT ONLY if you have patience and a LOT of time (so you don't get angry and impatient, and break something else during the whole process), and it is a hazy day, AND the hole on your windows isn't too big. I think the whole trick is to properly get the plunger/syringe seated, and the biggest is to catch that resin BEFORE it leaks down your windshield, and you will be ok so you won't have to take 45 minutes like I did, scraping it off your windshield after the hole is sealed.
one note: if u r going to try this, make sure that when the instructions say to put the clip in the 'top' notch (i think in step 6), be sure you pull the plunger ALL THE WAy to the top, so the clip will go in there. the bottom of the syringe/plunger, is REALLY the top, if that makes any sense... also, make sure you keep in memory how the clip went on the plunger before you take it off; i got confused how to put it back on during the process and had to remove the syringe from the windshield holder about 4 times...
